The China National Space Administration on Sunday released new videos and images of the country's Mars probe Tianwen-1 landing on and exploring the red planet. The videos show the landing rover deploying its parachute and descending to the Martian surface, and its Mars rover Zhurong driving away from its landing platform and moving over the land.
6月27日，國家航天局發(fā)布我國天問一號火星探測任務(wù)著陸和巡視探測系列實(shí)拍影像。視頻記錄了著陸巡視器開傘和下降過程、祝融號火星車駛離著陸平臺及火星表面移動過程。
The ambient sound during the process of Zhurong's rolling onto the Martian surface was also published, enabling people to hear the first sounds transmitted from the Chinese robot. The images include the Martian landscape and the ruts left behind by the rover. As of the morning of June 27, the orbiter of the Tianwen-1 mission has been operating around Mars for 338 days, and its Earth-Mars distance is approximately 360 million km. The Mars rover Zhurong has been working on Mars for 42 Martian days and has driven a total of 236 meters.

Industrial profits grow steadily
前5月工業(yè)利潤同比增83.4%
Industrial firms with an annual business turnover of at least 20 million yuan raked in around 3.42 trillion yuan in total profits during the first five months, soaring 83.4% year-on-year, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) shows. Compared with the 2019 level, profits of major industrial firms rose 48% in the first five months. The expansion put average January-May growth in 2020 and 2021 at 21.7%, NBS data shows. In May alone, the profits of major industrial firms climbed 36.4% from a year earlier to 829.92 billion yuan.

Of all 41 industrial sectors, nearly 70% registered yearly profit increases in May, and 80% saw profits surpass 2019 levels, according to NBS senior statistician Zhu Hong. Specifically, the raw materials manufacturing sector maintained a robust profit increase last month, and the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector logged accelerated profit growth, Zhu noted. In the next stage, China will step up efforts to return commodity prices to supply and demand fundamentals, stimulate the vitality of market entities, and sustain the stable growth of industrial firms, Zhu added.

Bond issuances in China totaled 4.4 trillion yuan in May, data from the central bank shows. Treasury bond issuances amounted to 375.76 billion yuan, while local government bond issuances stood at 875.34 billion yuan, according to the People's Bank of China. In May, issuances of financial bonds came in at 610.59 billion yuan, while corporate credit bond issuances totaled 578.04 billion yuan. Issuances of credit-asset-backed securities stood at 95.83 billion yuan, and issuances of interbank deposit certificates hit 1.8 trillion yuan. By the end of May, outstanding bonds held in custody were at 122.2 trillion yuan, central bank data shows.

Derek Chauvin sentenced to 22.5 years

Former US police officer Derek Chauvin was sentenced on Friday to 270 months, or 22.5 years in prison, for the murder of African American George Floyd last year in Minneapolis, Minnesota state. Chauvin "is the first white officer in Minnesota to face prison time for the killing of a Black man," according to Minnesota Public Radio.

Floyd's death sparked weeks of nationwide protests against police brutality and systemic racism last summer.
