up和down的區(qū)別是什么

up向上，down向下

up時(shí)抬上、舉起、開啟，意味向上的動(dòng)作。
down就是相對(duì)的，比如說關(guān)閉開關(guān)
二者都是動(dòng)詞詞性。

up：表示向上
down：表示向下

我個(gè)人認(rèn)為二者的區(qū)別不大

(1)burn down: destroy (sth.) or be destroyed by fire 燒毀

The city was burnt down by the enemy.這座城市被敵人燒毀了。

A fire burnt the house down in half an hour.大火在半小時(shí)內(nèi)將房子燒毀了。

(2) “燒毀”的另一個(gè)短語為：burn up＝destroy ( sth. )or be destroyed completely by fire

意為“(被)燒光”。

Eg He burnt up all the old letters. 他把所有的舊信都燒光了。

The fire burnt up more than $50 000 worth of goods.大火燒掉了價(jià)值5萬美元的貨物。

(3) burn down 和 burn up 在以上例句中都作及物動(dòng)詞用，它們還都可以作不及物動(dòng)詞用。

Eg. Let's leave the fire to burn down and go into our tents.

讓火自己慢慢熄掉，我們到帳蓬里去吧。

The spaceship burned up when it re- entered the earth's atmosphere.
